Well done Mabel! As seen in the Daily Mail , The Telegraph , The Shropshire Star , The Mirror and a host of other newspapers and websites. Needless to say all the puppies are well and Mabel is more than happy to leave them to their proper mother at feeding time!

Well on the road to recovery “Sick Chick” whose proper name is Mabel has been helping look after a brood of four Jack Russell puppies. Not long now before she goes back out to her fox proof hen house in the garden leaving the pups to their proper mother.

One of our hens, Mabel, was trodden on by a horse and has spent quite some time recuperating in the house. So much so this chicken has devolved quite a taste for the finer things in life.

Yet more of the white stuff! All our houses are standing up to the adverse conditions admirably, but whilst enjoying the snow it will make life easier when it goes.

Not being in the least impressed the new hens did not leave their house until lunch time! Our tip for winter is to ensure your hens have plenty of unfrozen water.

Whilst the workshops are hard at it getting the Christmas stock ready the ‘Houses for Hens’ road show hits the Mary’s Sale circuit calling at Hullavington, York and Sandown. It is always fun to meet our customers and get positive feedback about our fox proof hen houses.

The first of our new Cottage style hen houses are now leaving the workshops in the new pre assembled form and packed well for their transit.

This month has seen the end of the  research and development of the ‘new look’ Cottage style hen house.

We are thrilled with the end result and hope many hens will agree with us that the best has just got better.
